Solvent Cleaner - Understanding Your Cleaning Fluid
Is Your Solvent Cleaner Targeted For Phase Out?
3M™ Novec™ Engineered Fluids are ideal candidates to replace other solvent cleaners targeted for phase-out, including trichloroethylene, Methylene chloride and n-Propylbromide (nPb). 3M can help you understand the industries fast paced regulatory changes surrounding the use of ultrasonic cleaners and demonstrate how Novec can balance proven performance with an outstanding environmental and safety profile to help you find an alternative solution.
Is Your Solvent Cleaner Cost Effective?
3M™ Novec™ Engineered Fluids can offer cost savings in a number of areas. Energy costs can be as much as double in aqueous cleaning applications and the evaporative loss of Novec fluids when used in vapour degreasing or a similar, recirculating system is lower than most other precision cleaning solvents. The low surface tension, low viscosity, high density and low heat of vaporization of Novec fluids result in reduced drag out losses compared to other cleaning solvents. Novec fluids drip away quickly, without becoming trapped in small spaces.
Is Your Solvent Cleaner Safe?
Whilst other solvent cleaners carry a number of carcinogenic risks as well as being classed as CMR's (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or Reproductive Toxin) by the Solvent Emissions Directive and can also be highly flammable, Novec Cleaning fluids are not classed as CMR's, carry no risk phrases and are non flammable.
