Application Process


Application process for Grads & IPs

Application

  • View job profiles in our Graduate Scheme or Industrial Placement Programme and find a role that is right for you.
  • Submit your CV and complete two competency questions.

Numerical & verbal critical reasoning tests

  • If you meet our selection criteria you will be emailed, usually within a week, and asked to complete numerical & verbal critical reasoning tests online.
  • These assess your ability to interpret numerical and verbal data.
  • N.B. If invited to assessment centre you will be required to complete supervised tests of the same level.

Telephone Interview
• If you meet our required level in both tests, you will be contacted to arrange a short telephone interview.
• This generally takes place within 10 days.

Assessment Centre

  • If successful at telephone interview, and shortlisted, you will be invited to attend a one or two-day assessment centre at a 3M site.
  • You will take part in a variety of exercises, including presentations, group exercises and an individual interview. You will also be required to complete supervised numerical & verbal critical reasoning tests of the same level as the online ones.
  • In addition, you will have an opportunity to find out more about 3M and meet employees both formally and informally.

Selection

  • We aim to make a formal job offer to successful candidates within five working days of this final stage.

Application Process for General Vacancies

Application & Evaluation

  • Visit the Search & Apply section of our website for the roles we are currently recruiting for.
  • Submit your CV.
  • Your CV will be reviewed by the recruiting manager.

  • If you meet our selection criteria you will be asked to complete numerical & verbal critical reasoning tests online.
  • These assess your ability to interpret numerical and verbal data.

N.B. If invited to interview you will be required to complete supervised tests of the same level.

First Interview

  • If you meet our required level in both tests, and are shortlisted, you will be invited to an interview which will take place at a 3M site.

Second Interview

  • You may be invited back to a second interview with the hiring manager to further assess your competencies and fit for the role.

Selection

  • We aim to make a formal job offer to successful candidates within five working days of this final stage.

N.B. The recruitment process may differ slightly depending on the requirements of the role.
