VITA recommends RelyX™ Unicem for VITA Rapid Layer Technology

09 August 2010

VITA Zahnfabrik recommends the use of 3M™ ESPE™ RelyX™ Unicem Self-Adhesive Universal Resin Cement for the new VITA Rapid Layer Technology. This new technology enables the dental technician to cement a veneer structure made of feldspar ceramic with a framework made of oxide ceramic – both fabricated in a computer-aided process – utilizing resin cement.

With the design software of the CEREC or inLab system by Sirona, crowns and bridges can be constructed in full contour. For VITA Rapid Layer Technology, the data is automatically divided into two separate files enabling the production of the porcelain work and the framework structure. Both elements are milled one by one from feldspar and oxide ceramic, respectively.

The adhesive cementation of the structures in the dental laboratory is done with RelyX Unicem. The cement is available e.g. in the convenient Clicker™ Dispenser. This delivery system enables the dental technician to dispense the cement in an easy and quick way. At this, the amount of cement needed can be exactly adjusted to the size of the restoration to be connected. After dispensing, the cement is simply mixed with a spatula and applied immediately. Due to its unique chemical composition, RelyX Unicem offers a reliable high bond strength as well as outstanding long-term stability. These benefits have been proven in numerous studies.

Apart from the Clicker Dispenser as well as capsule delivery systems, 3M ESPE is going to offer RelyX™ Unicem 2 Automix in an automix syringe from September 2010.
