Dimension™ Penta™ Putty - Real putty consistency with the benefits of automatic mixing

01 October 2010

3M ESPE has launched a new set of impression materials for everyday use which are cost effective and eliminate the inconsistency and waste associated with traditional hand mixing. The Dimension™ Penta putty VPS impression material is suitable for automatic mixing and dispensing in the Pentamix™ 2 or Pentamix™ 3 automatic mixing units. It combines the convenience, ease and accuracy of automatic mixing with the reliability of 3M ESPE’s impression materials technology.

Automatically mixing true putty consistency is regarded as highly beneficial by many dentists. In contrast with hand mixing, the process is time-saving and less messy. With the touch of a button, a homogeneous, void-free mixture of consistent quality is produced and the device dispenses exactly the amount of material needed – without producing waste.

Dimension™ Penta putty also consists of two hydrophilic washes: Dimension™ Regular Body and Dimension™ Ultra Light Body Quick. While the former is perfectly suited for the 1-step technique, the latter is the solution for practitioners who prefer the 2-step technique. Due to the hydrophilic behaviour of the washes, flow defects can be reduced and precise, accurate reproduction achieved. Accuracy together with the material’s high tear strength can result in less retakes, saving both time and money.

Through a combination of the Dimension™ Penta putty with one of the two new hydrophilic washes, highly precise impressions can be taken using the automatic technique. Offered at a favourable price of just £82 for a double refill pack (based on RRP), there is yet another reason to switch to automatic mixing.
