Scotchbond Universal Adhesive -a whole new level of versatility

From state-of-the-art racing cars to space shuttles and satellites, adhesive technologies from 3M have generated thousands of innovative and useful products with applications in countless markets. Working in collaboration with dentists, 3M has leveraged this technology to develop a continuum of advances in dental bonding materials. 3M ESPE’s latest advance, Scotchbond Universal Adhesive, offers a unique versatility designed to simplify the overall dental bonding procedure.

Until now dentists have juggled with multiple adhesive systems, sorting through numerous bottles to select the right product for an indication, whilst being cautious with technique to prevent problems such as post-operative sensitivity. With Scotchbond Universal adhesive dentists can experience true versatility, a single- bottle solution for a variety of application methods, delivering high and consistent bond strength compared with other leading adhesives.1 Combining total-etch and self-etch properties, Scotchbond Universal adhesive can be used on all surfaces, including enamel, dentine, glass ceramic, zirconia, alumina, metals and composites – without additional primer.

"This exciting new product means that dentists can streamline their entire adhesive inventory, with the potential to save time and money” explained Sophie Singh, Product Manager, 3M ESPE. “Dentists no longer need separate self-etch, total-etch, direct or indirect adhesives, Scotchbond Universal adhesive will meet all these needs and more… it even works as a silane primer."

Simple to use- apply Scotchbond Universal adhesive directly to the tooth and rub in for 20 seconds, air-dry the area for five seconds, and light cure for 10 seconds. If desired, an optional etch with phosphoric acid can be performed for 15 seconds prior to application of the adhesive

Packaged for extra convenience, the multi-dose bottle incorporates a new design flip-top lid, allowing users to open, dispense and close with one hand, whilst the nozzle has been engineered to ensure accurate one-drop dispensing. Unlike standards black opaque bottles, the Scotchbond Universal adhesive bottle is a unique translucent orange colour, allowing visual inspection of how much bond is remaining, whilst still protecting the content from light.

Sophie Singh added "Since its launch, Scotchbond Universal adhesive has been flying off the shelves, and when you consider its unique versatility and ease of use you can understand why. This development takes dental adhesives to a new level and represents 3M ESPE’s commitment to bringing leading-edge technology to dentistry."

From now until 30 June 2012, for every Scotchbond Universal Adhesive Intro Kit purchased, you will receive a Scotchbond Universal Adhesive refill for free. For further information call 3M ESPE Customer Care Team on 0845 602 5094 or visit www.3MESPE.co.uk/promotions.
