3M is hosting a series of free webinars for health and safety professionals across a range of industries.
The webinars are designed to share 3M’s knowledge and expertise on a variety of workplace issues, hazards and training methods. They are hosted by 3M technical services engineers and also feature guest speakers.
Said Annalisa Whitehead, eBusiness executive for 3M’s Personal Safety Division: “We have been running the webinars as part of our Safety Spotlight series for four years now. This year we have introduced a number of new features including the creation of ‘teaser videos’ to promote the events and conducting live opinion polls during the webinars on safety related topics. We will also post full-length versions of the sessions on YouTube following each event so that those who missed out on the day can catch up.”
There are four remaining webinars lined up for 2014:

The viewers’ choice
This November, the team is giving viewers the chance to choose the final subject in the 2014 Safety Spotlight webinar series. To select their chosen topic – communications, fit testing, science of fit, compatibility of PPE or legislation covering PPE – viewers simply need to join 3M’s new online community The 3M Safety Network, which will be launched shortly, and vote.
Wednesday 19 November, 12.00 – 12.45 pm
Sarah Broadbent says: “Each of the webinars covers the essential steps for any health and safety programme, including identifying hazards, selecting adequate and suitable personal protective equipment, understanding human behaviour and the motivation for non-compliance and education and training.
“The industrial workplace can be a hazardous environment and our webinars are designed to support health and safety managers who are responsible for ensuring that workers are safe and the company complies to regulatory standards.”
You can find our more and register for the webinars online. All you need to join is a telephone and internet access.
