3M’s Fire Barrier Solutions offer passive fire protection for fire stopping of service penetrations and blank openings .The complete range of 3M fire protection products helps to prevent fire, smoke and toxic fumes from passing through fire rated walls and floors.
These easy to install products are suitable for almost all penetrating items including electrical services, plastic pipes, metal pipes and ductwork.
Most of the products work through intumescence. This means that when exposed to heat they expand up to 10 times their original size, sealing cavities in the penetration or opening.
The fire barrier solutions range includes inteumescent sealants, putties, wraps and composite sheets.
