Green Benefits

Alternative processes of replacing water pipelines can involve significant disruption caused by the need to dig up existing pipe, leading to high costs associated with excavation products disposal. Processes are time consuming, labour intensive and cause major disruption to traffic, and play a major role in a high carbon footprint.

3M™ Scotchkote™ innovative rapid setting polymeric linings minimise the need for such costly excavation and the associated disposal costs. The 3M solution restores hydraulic capacity which can increase the flow therefore reducing the energy required to pump the water through the lined pipe. Reducing the water pressure can also minimise the level of leakage.

Particularly in urban areas, a process that can reduce traffic congestion and disruption, offers both environmental and cost savings, resulting in a lower carbon footprint.
