Interam 570 NC catalytic converter mat mounts – the non-classified alternative to the Interam 100 mat – have been resolving complex heat management and monolith support challenges in petrol engines since 2004. Here they ensure balanced pressure behaviour and high erosion resistance across a broad temperature spectrum.
The fibres remain high-performance and are bio-soluble at maximum temperatures. If inhaled, they dissolve quickly and cannot cause harm.
A new development – the 600NC – generates lower expansion pressure and is highly resistant to erosion. This makes it suitable for thin-walled substrates and a cost-effective alternative to polycrystalline products.
3M™ Interam™ mat mount – diesel applications
The Interam 2500 NC catalytic converter expanding mat mount for diesel engines is suitable for all temperature ranges. It maintains strong holding forces at low operating temperatures while the expanding mount manages the increasing gap spread at higher temperatures.
The Interam 600NC, which is less expensive than polycrystalline mats, boasts uniform pressure formation and high performance capacity. It is well suited to both diesel particulate filters and diesel oxidation catalytic converters.
