Hay fever
Hay fever is an allergic reaction to airborne pollen particles that affects around 20% of the UK population. When experiencing hay fever the body's immune system is over reacting to the presence of airborne pollen particles. The time of year that Hay fever affects an individual depends on which pollen they are allergic to. During spring (March to May) tree pollen is most prevalent. During the summer months (May to July) flower and grass pollen is more prevalent.
The common symptoms of hay fever include:
- Frequent sneezing
- Runny or blocked nose
- Red, watery or itchy eyes
- Itchy mouth, nose and throat.
Reducing the sufferer’s exposure to airborne pollen is a popular method of reducing the impact of hay fever. Filtrete room air purifiers remove up to 99.9% of pollen particles*.

Filtrete room air purifiers are up to 99.9% effective at removing pollen and dust mite debris from the air in a room*. They also offer effective filtration of tobacco smoke and pet dander.
