Skin Closures
3M™ Steri-Strip ™ Skin Closures are clinically proven to offer fast, efficient and highly effective wound closure. Their principal uses are primary skin closure of lacerations and surgical incisions and after the removal of suture and staples for wound support.

Our Skin Closures are gentle to the skin (due to their hypoallergenic adhesive), quick and easy to apply and comfortable for the patient. They support more rapid development of wound tensile strength, leading to better healing and prevent scarring caused by puncture marks or cross-hatching.

The range of skin closure products available includes 3M™ Steri-Strip ™ Skin Closures (Reinforced), which have a microporous backing material allowing the skin to breathe. The reinforced filaments of the Steri-Strip ™ Skin Closure provides added strength to support the wound.

3M™ Steri-Strip ™ Elastic Skin Closures are ideal for areas of musculoskeletal movement and highly contoured parts of the body due to their elasticity. Our Elastic Skin Closures are also available in skin tone colour for a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

The 3M™ Steri-Strip ™ Wound Closure System is a combination of 3M™ Tegaderm ™ Film and Steri-Strip wound closures which creates a quick and easy wound closure system that can remain on the skin for up to 7 days.

3M™ Skin Stapling Systems
According to MacGregor F.B. et al, 1989, skin stapling systems (PDF, 637KB) are “significantly quicker, simpler to use and safer than sutures”.

3M™ Precise ™ MS Skin Staplers
The MS skin stapler comes pre-loaded with staples to meet all wound closure requirements. The staples are particularly suitable for scalp wounds as they do not catch on hair and are easy to see and remove. The MS skin stapler is also suitable for use on surgical wounds.

3M™ Precise ™ Vista Skin Stapler
This surgical stapler has an angled head, which allows a clear view of the wound area for precise staple insertion, with an ergonomic feel for enhanced control. The staples can be released from the retractable anvil in any direction and the Vista’s simple design and quality construction assure consistent performance.

3M™ Precise ™ Disposable Skin Staple Removers
3M™ Skin Staple Removers are suitable for use with most brands of skin staples. The forceps style SR1 combines functionality with cost effectiveness and the scissor-like action of the SR3 provides ergonomic grip for easy staple removal.
