Matched Component System
When you choose only 3M's matched component products to produce Scotchprint® Graphics, you'll know that every component has been designed, developed, tested and manufactured for superior performance and total compatibility. The result is a range of perfectly balanced products that print, cut and apply consistently. With 3M matched component products you can create graphics that meet your needs, from short-term promotional to long-term durable applications.
With 3M's matched component system (MCS™) you are assured the consistent image quality and durability you need to build a brand image. And 3M backs up that promise with the most comprehensive warranty in the Image Graphics market.
When all components in a finished graphic are from 3M, the whole graphic is covered by the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty. This warranty is only available on graphics manufactured by 3M™ MCS™ Qualified Manufacturers or Scotchprint® Graphics Authorised Manufacturers. Because we are so confident about the quality of our graphics, we are able to provide this unique warranty, which protects the whole graphic and each individual component within it. This provides a genuine guarantee of quality with peace of mind to protect you in the unlikely event of a graphic failure.
Are the components of your graphic perfectly matched? Why take a risk?
Graphics made with components from different manufacturers may initially look the same as Scotchprint® Graphics, but they may not work well together. Unmatched chemistry can create problems like lifting, cracking, fading, shrinking, wrinkling and bubbling.
Cracking
The film can become brittle and inflexible--causing ugly cracking--if the ink and film aren't compatible.
Lifting
Lifting around rivets and bridging on corrugations can occur when an incompatible ink reacts with the film and adhesive. It can also occur when the adhesive separates from the film or substrate.
Wrinkling and Bubbling
Your graphics can wrinkle and bubble if the wrong film is used on the substrate.
Shrinking and Tearing
Your graphic can shrink and tear if it's not able to conform to irregular surfaces. It also can lift if the film and substrate are incompatible.
Fading
The colours of your graphics can fade if they're printed using an ink that's manufactured with pigment or one that's mixed with an incorrect ratio.
