The MP for Bridgend last visited the 3M site almost three years ago and since then significant investment has been made into increasing production capacity of the Clean Trace ATP rapid hygiene monitoring system.
The system, which was first developed at Bridgend, tests for organic contamination on surfaces and is widely used by the food and healthcare sectors.
Site manager Bill Devlin commented: “The new equipment is currently being validated and will be coming on-line in the very near future.
“The Clean Trace system has been experiencing double digit growth in sales and the investment will be bringing much needed capacity to meet the projected demand.”
