Aura respirators commended for safety
The 3M™ Aura™ Disposable Respirators have been commended for product innovation in the British Safety Industry
Federation's Safety Awards 2012.
The awards, which recognise excellence within the safety industry in the categories of product innovation, customer
service and occupational health and safety - were announced during the Health and Safety Exhibition held at the NEC, Birmingham, on 15 May.
Said Fergal Morris, general manager for 3M Safety Solutions, who presented most of the awards: "3M is a long-standing sponsor
of the awards and our association with this high profile event is a great way to re-affirm our reputation for safety and
innovation within the industry.
"We were delighted to be commended in the highly-contested product innovation category that received 100 entries and was
judged by an independent panel. Aura disposable respirators were launched in 2011, featuring new design features, increased
user comfort and a state-of-the-art filter material that combines effective performance with low breathing resistance.
"This demonstrates our commitment to listening to what our customers want and bringing new technical innovation to an
established product range."
Speaking about the 2012 awards, David Lummis, chief executive officer at the British Safety Industry Federation, said: "The
product innovation category received so many outstanding entries that competition was fierce and it made choosing an overall
winner a very difficult process.
"The Safety Awards continue to underline the Federation's dedication to the highest standards within the supply of occupational
health and safety products and services."
