3M celebrates hat-trick of award successes
The company's Occupational Health and Environmental Safety (OH&ES) team has been nominated for a prestigious Institute of
Sales Promotion Award for its online Eyecatching Protection campaign.
The campaign is designed to give wearers of safety spectacles the unique opportunity to "try before they buy" simply by logging on to
the 3M microsite at www.3Meyecatchingprotection.co.uk. Highly interactive,
the microsite gives users the opportunity to upload their photograph, choose a pair of spectacles and simply slip them in place.
The site's functionality enables users to change lens colours and switch styles until they find the one that best suits them.
Users can also request a free sample of their chosen design. The ISP award ceremony takes place at the London Hilton in May.
Meanwhile, 3M's S-655 Premium Hood is one of a select number of products from around the world to achieve a red dot award for design.
Ranking amongst the largest design competitions in the world, the red dot awards are made annually by Design Zentrum Nordrhein
Westfalen for outstanding international design. 3M in conjunction with design agency DCA was selected for the award from a field
of nearly 5,000 entries from 57 countries. The S-655 Premium Hood features a number of functional, usability and visual innovations
including adjustable airflow and excellent field of vision.
Finally, 3M's Speedglas 9100 Welding Shield has been recognised in the 2010 Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors Design Awards.
The award was collected by 3M’s Welding Sales Manager, Keith Washbrook, at the Ergonomics Society's 2010 Annual Conference at
Keele University.
Adele Wills of 3M's Occupational Health & Environmental Safety Division commented: "To be recognised through three major
awards schemes in such quick succession is a testament to the innovative approach undertaken by both marketing and technical
colleagues within 3M. As a company we constantly strive to be at the forefront of developments and it is this along with
the technical support we are able to offer which allows us to offer a complete solution to customers." |
