3M™ Speedglas™ Welding Shields require regular checks and maintenance to ensure optimum performance and protection for the wearer.

In addition to potentially reducing protection levels, poor maintenance can also reduce the effective lifetime of equipment, resulting in the additional cost of replacement.

Guidance on the appropriate checks is provided in the instruction booklet with each new item or system. Care and Maintenance Packs make this information accessible on a day to day basis and provide a strong, visual reminder.

The maintenance of respiratory protective equipment (RPE) is a legal requirement under the COSHH Regulations, which states that RPE should be regularly tested, inspected and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

		Care & Maintenance Packs Easy-to-follow guidance explaining the checks and procedures for the components of each 3M system on site. Posters and information sheets enable details to be made easily accessible to everyone involved in the maintenance of this equipment. Information Sheet: Highlight the main ‘Before Use’ and ‘After Use’ checks (as required) for each piece of kit. Posters: In an A3 format which provides a strong visual reminder.
		Additional Record Card As part of the COSHH regulation relating to Powered and/or Supplied Air systems, record cards must be used to record monthly checks on equipment. Download and print additional record cards for use with your Care & Maintenance Pack.
