 Speedglas™ 9100 Welding Shields

Speedglas™ 9100 Welding Shields

3M Speedglas 9100 FX Series Welding Shields feature a flip-up combination of an auto-darkening welding shield and a protective visor. Not only is the viewing area of the shield larger than on previous models – 17cm x 10cm - the geometry of the shield has been redesigned to increase peripheral vision. All 3M Speedglas 9100 FX Series products feature a spark- and spatter-resistant headcover as standard.

3M Speedglas 9100 Air Welding Shields allow welders exposed to respiratory hazards to enjoy all the benefits of the 3M Speedglas range along with the ability to connect to the 3M Adflo Powered Air Respirator or 3M Fresh-air C Supplied Air Regulator. The shield features an integral air duct which provides a refreshing air flow across the entire breathing zone, helping keep the welding filter fog-free while ensuring comfortable working in even the most demanding conditions. Meanwhile, the innovative 3M Quick Release Swivel (QRS) enables single-handed breathing tube connection and release.

For welders requiring both a higher level of respiratory protection and excellent vision in a flip-up model, the new 3M Speedglas 9100 FX Air Welding Shield combines all the benefits of the individual 3M Speedglas 9100 FX Series and 3M Speedglas 9100 Air Welding Shields. Depending on user preference, it is compatible with the 3M Adflo or 3M Fresh-air C Supplied Air Regulator. The breathing tube is attached to the headband rather than the shield, supplying air direct to the breathing zone, while the QRS is again included as standard. This product is ideal for welders who may also be required to undertake precision grinding in low lighting conditions, where they can simply flip up the welding shield without compromising respiratory protection.

Aicha Kabil of 3M’s Occupational Health & Environmental Safety Division commented: 'We are constantly seeking ways to increase the ease of use and protection offered by our personal protective equipment. The latest additions to the 3M Speedglas range do just that – by increasing the viewing area on the 3M Speedglas 9100 FX models, and by allowing easy connection of respiratory protection products onto the 3M Speedglas 9100 Air range, meaning there is no need for a separate respirator to be worn.'
