The horizontal fibre cable provides the physical link between the VF-45™ socket in the floor distributor patch panel and the VF-45 socket in the outlet. Horizontal fibre cable is available in two or four fibre format. As with the backbone fibre cable, each pair of 250 μm coated fibres is contained within a separate buffer tube, which allows for simpler and quicker terminations into a VF-45 socket. The cable jackets can be LSOH (low smoke, zero halogen rated), OFNP (plenum rated), or OFNR (riser rated).

All are available in both single-mode and multimode format and in a number of easy to use assembly processes, Hot Melt, Crimplok or NPC.
