As network speeds increase customers are demanding extra flexibility from their passive network, which must be future proof and easy to install and maintain. 3M Telecommunications offers full data cabling systems in both copper and optical fibre, giving freedom of choice in the design and optimisation of the overall network architecture.

As network speeds are increasing and more demands are put on the data centre, 3M Telecommunications has designed a variety of easy to install, innovative connectivity solutions to ensure a high performance, reliable data cabling system, that is simple to maintain. The data cabling range includes all the products required for passive cabling from low data rates to 10Gbit/s performance, including patchcords, connectors, cable and associated hardware. The data cabling solutions are supported by a 20 year system warranty.

Copper Data Cabling

3M Telecommunications offers a full range of copper data cabling solutions in either category 5e, category 6 or category 6a. Category 5e and category 6 copper data cabling comes in different levels of shielding performance: UTP, FTP or STP, whereas the category 6a copper data cabling is available in reliable, high performance, or STP.

3M Telecommunications' high-end copper data cabling system is a complete solution consisting of patch panels, patch cords, K-series jacks, cables and faceplates that offers maximum performance at an economic cost. The whole system is based on the K-series jacks which snap on without specialised tooling giving built in reliability and performance exceeding existing standards.

Fibre Data Cabling

3M Telecommunications offers a full range of fibre data cabling solutions in wide range of different connectivity styles for fibre-to-the-desk, backbones, data centres, storage area networks and industrial or military cabling. 3M Telecommunications's own process, the Volition VF-45 is based on an easy to terminate, full duplex small form factor connector similar to an RJ-45 copper connector.

3M Telecommunications also offers a full range of standard ferruled connectors such as the LC, SC, ST or FC. All are available in both singlemode and multimode format and in a number of easy to use assembly processes, Hot Melt, Crimplok or NPC (No Polish Connector). These connectors are complemented by a range of patchcords and pigtails in a variety of lengths.

There is also an extensive range of mounting hardware & accessories including 19" patch panels, fanouts and distribution boxes. The Fibrlok mechanical splice, available in single- , multifibre and angled versions for singlemode and multimode fibre, completes the offering of fibre data cabling products.
