Ambient background or surroundings

Refers to the light surrounding a reflective object, such as a sign. It affects how bright the reflective object appears to an observer.

Angularity 

Refers to the degree to which reflective sheeting reflects light when the sign or device is at a wide entrance angle to the oncoming headlights of a vehicle. It is measured and included in performance specifications. See Entrance Angle for more information.
