Diamond Grade DG³ Reflective Sheeting

3M™ Diamond Grade™ DG³ Reflective Sheeting gives outstanding reflectivity at every viewing angle, at every viewing distance and in all weather & daylight conditions. It satisfies or surpasses the minimum recommended luminance index for all classes including RA2, 3A and 3B. A massive twelve year performance guarantee helps protect your investment, and energy savings are possible too since regulations now permit use of DG³ without external illumination in certain situations.

Summary

Designed for durable road traffic signs, including gantries, motorways and trunk road signs, DG³ is certified in European Technical Approval (07/0272) and is the only premium sheeting that carries the CE quality marking. DG³is available in five colours, and also in fluorescent and translucent formats for special applications.

In all formats, DG³ achieves its remarkable performance from use of full corner cube optics, which reflect more light back to the driver than any other reflective system. Whilst the main advantage for specifiers (and drivers) is the superior performance that full corner cube optics provides, there are other benefits too. The production techniques used to make DG³ are much kinder on the environment than other reflective sheeting manufacturing methods. Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions are reduced by 97%, energy consumption by 77% and solid waste by 46% when compared to glass beaded sheeting manufacture.

Specification

Formats : DG³ for durable road traffic signs, including gantries, motorways and trunk road signs or any sign that requires high levels of reflectivity. Fluorescent DG³ for high impact at dawn/dusk or as high visibility backing board. Translucent DG³ for back lit signs offering high performance in event of power/bulb failure.

Relevant Standards : DG³ meets or exceeds the requirements of both BS EN 12899-1:2007 and BS 8408:2005 for all classes including RA2, 3A & 3B. Fluorescent yellow also meets the performance index requirement of BS 8442 and is authorised by the Highways Agency for use on trunk road signs conforming to diagrams in Schedule 7 part VIII of the Traffic Signs and General Directions 2002.

Application surface : Properly prepared flat Aluminium and British Steel HP200 substrates and selected other composites for DG³ and Fluorescent DG³. Properly degreased and cleaned signing grade dried polycarbonate or acrylic sheeting for Translucent DG³.
