Ultrathon™ Insect Repellent

Insect Repellent

For some people choosing an insect repellent is about finding an effective product that will enable you to keep on enjoying your holiday, free from annoying insect bites. For others, who travel to high risk malaria areas, the greater concern is ensuring that you aren’t taken ill on holiday or on returning from your travels.

What type of insect repellent are you looking for?

3M™ Ultrathon™ Insect Repellent is a highly effective barrier suitable for everything from low risk areas to the most extreme conditions. It's available in a lotion as well as a spray format. Click here to BUY now or to read more information.

Insect repellents come in various formats but before you choose what type you want you may wish to learn about DEET and the benefits of choosing DEET insect repellent.

Alternative mosquito repellents

Some people may prefer to use even lower DEET or DEET free products such as a citronella based insect repellent. For areas where insects transmit dangerous diseases, however, citronella-based repellents in general would not provide adequate protection when travelling to these areas. Ultrathon insect repellent offers the benefit of tropical strength protection in high risk areas with levels of DEET below 35%.

Complementary measures

Anything from repellent accessories such as plug-in devices that release insecticide, and mosquito nets (impregnated with insecticide) can act as complements to protect you on your travels but should not be considered substitutes for topically applied insect repellent.

'Repellents' such as garlic, vitamin B and ultrasound devices have proven to be ineffective in preventing mosquito bites.

Midge repellent

Midges, while not transmitting lethal diseases, can often ruin outdoor life whether you're hiking in Scotland or simply enjoying a barbeque in the garden. While milder insect repellents can have some effect, the best way to protect yourself is to wear Ultrathon insect repellent.
