3M’s advanced pipe lining solution approved for UK use17 November 2012 Scotchkote Pipe Renewal Liner 2400 from 3M, a liquid applied lining solution from diversified technology company 3M’s Infrastructure Protection Division, has achieved approval under Regulation 31(4)(a) of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000. Under the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000, all water companies and their appointed agents must ensure that products used in the production, supply and distribution of drinking water in England, Scotland and Wales are safe and appropriate for use in a public water supply. The approval of Scotchkote Liner 2400 under Regulation 31(4) (a) means that it is now approved for drinking water usage in 20 countries. The product is suitable for BS:EN ISO 11295:2010 Class D (non-structural) linings and can also be applied at specified lining thicknesses to help provide structural enhancement in excess of Class B (semi structural) requirements for potable water pipe lining applications.
