New 2-Layer ‘Lite’ Bandage System from 3M benefits patients less tolerant of compression

16 March 2011

Diversified technology company 3M has introduced the first 2-layer ‘Lite’ system to deliver sustained therapeutic compression to patients unable to tolerate high resting pressures.

Indicated for venous ulcers, venous ulcers with an arterial component (‘mixed aetiology’) and lymphoedema, the Coban 2 Lite compression system can be safely applied in selected patients where the ABPI (Ankle: Brachial Pressure Index) is equal to or greater than 0.5.

In a series of case studies, 100% of patients demonstrated wound healing or wound reduction after six weeks of treatment.  With good static and dynamic stiffness, the Coban 2 Lite system delivers up to 7 days wear time with minimal bandage slippage.  Its low profile enables the wearing of normal footwear, helping to improve patient mobility and quality of life.

3M and Coban are trademarks of the 3M Company.
