Winners of 3M-sponsored competition announced
10 June 2011
The winners have been announced in the BMW ‘2010 Bodyshop of the Year’ awards, sponsored by diversified technology company 3M.
The scheme, open to all approved BMW bodyshops across the UK, saw bodyshops judged on a range of performance indicators including product usage, profitability and customer satisfaction.
3M sponsored the awards scheme to enhance the already strong relationship between the two companies, with 3M a major supplier of consumables to BMW’s franchised and approved independent bodyshops.
The overall winner was Barrett’s Accident Repair Centre in Canterbury, whose manager won a trip to BMW’s headquarters in Munich, while the bodyshop team won tickets (including full corporate hospitality) to see Kylie Minogue in concert at the O2 Arena in London.
The three regional winners, whose managers again each won a trip to Munich, were JCT600 of Bradford, Stratstone Chesterfield, and Chandlers of Brighton.
Clive Farmer, Bodyshop Project Manager at BMW, commented: “The competition was a very closely contested affair. I am delighted for the management and staff at Barretts ARC whose efforts have culminated in them achieving this award. They have developed an excellent marketing programme focused on raising awareness and delivering service levels that far exceed customer expectations. As a result, they have had a positive impact on their business performance by adapting to the changing market conditions.”
Jason Stephens, National Key Account Manager within 3M’s Automotive Aftermarket Division added: “This awards scheme has helped strengthen what was already a very close working relationship between 3M, BMW and its UK bodyshop network. We would like to congratulate all the winners on their efforts.”
