New Tegaderm Superabsorber Dressing for managing heavily exuding wounds

18 June 2012

A new dressing for treating wounds that produce high amounts of fluid has been launched by diversified technology company 3M.

Consisting of a slim-line pad containing an absorbent powder, the dressing absorbs fluid (exudate) from the wound via a vertical wicking process, removing it from the skin surface. The dressing then retains the exudate within its structure, leaving the surface of the pad dry to the touch. This absorptive action creates an environment which optimises healing of the wound whilst minimising the risk of damage to surrounding skin.1

The sterile, single-use dressing is available for use in hospitals and community care to treat a wide range of wounds such as diabetic foot, pressure and leg ulcers and post-operative wounds.

The competitively priced Tegaderm Superabsorber dressing combines the clinical benefits of managing exudate with the potential for considerable cost savings compared with other super absorbent dressings on the market.2

The Superabsorber dressing is the latest addition to the Tegaderm family, an extensive range of dressings for acute and chronic wound care and IV therapy.  For over 30 years, Tegaderm dressings have been synonymous with quality and performance and are trusted by millions of healthcare professionals world-wide.
